Let me begin by welcoming you to Joan Cawley Gallery, Ltd. Over the years,
many of you have asked if I am an artist; I'm not. My appreciation of artists' works
prompted me to become a fine art publisher instead.
This is our thirty-third year in business. In 1974, we opened White Buffalo Gallery®.
We chose the name White Buffalo Gallery® because the albino buffalo was sacred
to all plains tribes. It is said that the white buffalo was "so great a rarity that even the Great Spirit must have been surprised when one was born." Soon, White Buffalo Gallery, Inc.
distinguished itself for its unique Native American, Western and Southwestern images.
Our first poster; "Woman With Red Belt" by R.C. Gorman, was published in 1976 and remains in our catalog today. The legacy of White Buffalo Gallery® continues with our distinctive jewelry depicting the company's stylized buffalo logo.
By the early 1980's, it was decided to personalize the company and
our name was changed to Joan Cawley Gallery, Ltd. In September 2002,
Kevin P.Cawley was elected as President of our company. We proudly continue
our family's tradition as the art industry¹s leading publisher of contemporary
Southwest art. I will remain active in the company as president emeritus however,
I prefer that you just call me Joan.
Please take this opportunity to review our images. They represent the "Best of the Southwest."
We appreciate your continued support, and we all look forward to serving you in the future.
Sincerely,

Joan M. Cawley
